A Quick Long Trip (does that make sense?)

We just had the longest car ride and the quickest trip home ever! After the ever-stressful boards last weekend we headed out of town to job interviews and to spend some time with family. We headed to Pueblo and stayed with Ty and Jordan for a night (thanks for helping us find Chloe Ty) then left for Farmington, NM where Seth had a couple of interviews. About 8 hours total. Then, after the interviews and the kiddos and I hanging out waaaaaay to long in Burger King's play area (it was really gross too) we drove to my parents house (about 8 hours).

We played in Pima with Seth's family on Wednesday and on Thursday Seth and I drove to Sierra Vista for another interview. Total drive time about 5 hours. This trip we were smart and left the two bigger kids with Grandma (man, I have a lot of kids)!

Played with my family on Friday and got up and drove to Las Vegas, NM on Saturday, about 8 hours in the car. Stayed the night with Seth's brother and his wife and went to church there. It is a branch and we doubled the primary and made quite a contribution to the congregation in sacrament meeting. It was a really cool little branch. Finished out the trip on Sunday with about 5 hours in the car to Denver. Quick but long. However, we did get to squeeze in a few fun things!

Another small celebration with cousins!

What a blast it was but can I just say we are so glad to be out of the car! I have a feeling we'll be back in it before we are ready!

Through the eyes of a child

So, its been a little tense around here lately. We are trying to get our house ready to put on the market, Seth has boards, making decisions about jobs and where to live, and the everyday life of raising three kids three and under. This morning was one of the worst of our intense days. I made 3 trips to our storage unit to put stuff in loading and unloading all of these huge boxes and stuff by myself with the kids in the back seat doing what kids do best when parents are completely distracted (spitting, fighting, yelling, giggling, poking, etc). I shamefully admit I lost it more than once. I later cried because I had been so grumpy at them for just being kids!

Right now Logan is having his "quiet time" while the other two sleep. I went in and held him and this is how our conversation went.

Me: Hey bud, I'm sorry I was so grumpy this morning.
Logan: That's okay mommy. You can be happy now.
Me: (with tear filled eyes) I am happy and I love you so much.
Logan: I love you more mommy.

I am so grateful for this little boy that has more love and forgiveness in him then I ever though possible for one person! It is so nice to gain some perspective through the eyes of a child.

one more down

We just had our 7th anniversary. This past year has flown! I am so grateful to get to spend eternity with this guy. He works hard for our family and is just good. I love you babe! Here's to eternity!
