We're Home!

I'll update with the full story (yes, there is always a story at our house. Why we can't do anything normal, I don't know) tomorrow when I can post some pictures. But, for those of you that check this blog regularly (like daily) I decided I'd put off going to bed for few more minutes to tell you all we are home from the hospital and are so grateful! Don't get me wrong, Children's is GREAT but you can only entertain a 2 year old with a short attention span for so long in a hospital, no matter how cool the place is! The surgery went well and Logan was excited to hear that he HAD to sleep with mom and dad tonight. Yeehaw. Okay, so stay tuned for the full on story of how crazy this past week and this week thus far has been! Hope you are all sleeping right now anyway!

Face Lift!

What do you think? Its about time I do some updating around here! I still need to do a few odds and ends to improve but the only music I listen to is stuff for the kids. Any recommendation for cool, hip, up-to-date stuff for the blog? Leave a comment, let me know!

Blessings

Spoiler Alert: Sentimental in a Cheesy sort of way!

Shocking, I know! I don't post for months and now I can't say enough! Lucky you! So, I'm always saying how busy we are and I thought I'd share where all that precious time goes. Since I haven't written in my journal in forever, at least maybe this will help me to remember our busy dental school days!

So believe it or not, this group keeps me/us pretty busy. The kids are growing up so fast and with Seth's schedule, we literally have to schedule everything! Good thing we have the family calendar in the kitchen to keep us in line!

SCHOOL! I think this is the bulk of our busyness (is that right?). Obviously for Seth and I often find myself up LATE at night trying to get it done. Seth has a year and a half left and I will be done early fall. Hooray! As excited as we are to be done with school we are so grateful for the chance to be educated! What a blessing!

So I have been super busy with getting our year supply/emergency preparedness in order. This second picture doesn't do all of my hard work justice! I can happily say that we have about a 6 month supply of most and year supply of the rest! I LOVE doing this stuff and often find myself putting off homework to learn and do more! It feels so good to be prepared! I've been working for months on a binder that deserves a post of its own so that is for another day. The second picture is of some cheese that I am going to store. Long story but if you are interested, let me know and I can tell you how EASY it is to do it! Between getting my binder info together, shopping sales, canning, dehydrating, sealing and organizing this has been a huge project that I'm soooo excited about!

So, I decided last fall that I wanted to run the Bolder Boulder. It is a 10k race. A little intimidating for someone like me who is so out of shape its embarrassing but it is a goal and now that people know I HAVE to do it (personal motivator). Seth is getting ready to start P90X. It is a fitness program that is AWESOME! He's wanting me to join him when to help me get ready for the race. Heck, maybe we'll do both of them together!

Friends and fun of course! What more can I say!

So we know we bring a lot of this on ourselves but we try not to complain and are just lovin' life! Our kids bring so much fun, love and laughter to us that we can't remember life before them and can't imagine it without them. We have grown closer as a couple these past few years and wouldn't change our lives in any way. We have been so blessed and as we look back on our trials and hardships we know we are being taken care of! What a great blessing it is to be here, in this moment, right now. We have taken that to be more of our motto as of late. Life hasn't been easy or a walk in the park but we can learn, grow and the best part is we get to do it all together!

Have a great day everyone!

Really Quick....

So, I have four kids under the age of 3 for the day and this needs to be quick. Logan's surgery is scheduled for Tuesday (tubes in his ears, tonsils and adenoids out)! Hooray! Sooner than we thought hence we still may be able to go home for spring break! We heard the recovery is the worst part but kids tend to bounce back really quick so keep that in your prayers! Thanks!

One month, two months.........

So, its been a while. I know, I know. I wish I had some awesome story to tell why I haven't blogged but honestly, I've just been busy with life. Sorry, some things have priority. Actually, the last few months have brought some crazy things so here they are in a nutshell.

1. Christmas was so much fun. Great to be with family and have Santa come! Can I just tell you we are (well, Seth is) amazing packers! We crammeded all of our stuff plus us into our little Malibu (complete with Logan's basketball hoop and Chloe's tunnels) with room to spare in the back seat! Woohoo! While it is doable, I don't recommend it.

(our shepherd and sheep for the annual Skinner family nativity)

(The ear infection we didn't know about and Chloe vomiting the night before can explain these reactions to Christmas morning)

2. Colt and Ashley were having a New Year's party and Seth was in Memphis on an externship. I really didn't want to take my two kids late at night to a party all night to come home by myself. However, the party animals that they are were FORCING me to go! Come to find out, Seth flew home early to surprise me and we did go party! It was a blast too!

(By far, the funnest and funniest game I have ever played! I'll spare you the rest of the pictures but here are the scores! If you want to know more, email me!)

3. We've had some really NICE and WARM days in Colorado and have been to the Zoo, parks, date night trade and out and about. Gotta love it!

(Tunnels on date night trade and the zoo)

4. The kids and I were in a little accident. Okay, we were hit by a semi. Sounds crazy and it was but the car doesn't look as bad as it sounds. We were in a turning lane to go left onto the freeway and the semi was coming across us off the freeway (is this making sense) and his trailer hit us. Everyone was fine. It just hit where I was and the kids only freaked out for a few minutes. The fireman were awesome! And, today we learned that they are going to total our car but we are getting twice what we thought we'd get. Guess that means we are going car shopping. Mixed emotions about that one. I know this is the one everybody wants to see pictures of but the best ones are on my phone and I don't know how to get them from there to here. I'll do that maybe when we get a new car to show you our upgrade.

5. We had a follow up with the ENT doctors about Logan's chronic ear infections yesterday. He is going to have surgery in a few weeks to put tubes in his ears, and take out his tonsils and adenoids. Poor boy. However, we are grateful he won't have to deal with bursting ear drums and risking hearing loss anymore.

6. We have decided to go unprivate. Weird, I know. But, the main purpose of this blog is to keep our parents up to date on the most adorable grandkids ever and they haven't quite figured out how to access it yet with it being private. So, until we get them set up, back to open invitation. I'll let you know when we go private again.

7. Logan informed us last night he want to get married (where did that come from?)! We told him after his mission he'll meet a cute girl (to which he said he wasn't going to marry Baby who is Chloe) and he can marry her. I thought it was nice that he thinks the only cute girl around is his little sister!

8. Duh! I did some shoots in AZ during our break. Check out my photo blog to see them.

So, that's life. Now that we are all caught up (or somewhat anyway) maybe I won't dread this so much. It wasn't that bad!
